A dose of inspiration

There's nothing like a few good quotes to inspire you from time to time. I remember discovering quotes the first time and being moved by the way the words were put together. Short, sweet and to the point. They inspire, motivate and drives you forward. As always, I am a big fan of quotes and I will be sharing them from time to time. Here are few more.

Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.(Plato)

Character is doing right when no one is watching. (J.C Watts)

It's very hard to take yourself too seriously when you look at the world from outer space. (Thomas K Mattingly)

The only thing that stands between a man and what he wants from life is often merely the will to try it and the faith to believe it is possible.(Richard Devos)

You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience which you must stop and look fear in the face...You must do the thing you think you cannot do.(Eleanor Roosvelt)

Courage is the capacity to confront what can be imagined(Leo Rosten)

Why confidence matters in Business

Self-Confidence is important in every aspect of our lives, yet many of us struggle to find it.It prevents so many of us from achieving our goals it's unimaginable how many dreams go unrealized.
I want to share this email I received today about why self-confidence is important and how we can incorporate it in our lives. It is from Trump University Success blog. Check it out.

From Donald Trump.

It was Thoreau who wrote, "If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them."

I couldn't have said it better. Get your vision, get focused, and then do the work -- starting today!

When I was starting out in Manhattan real estate, I had to be courageous because I was in new territory. I did my homework and studied and watched what was going on, but I was paving my own way here and I had to appear confident, or I knew I'd never make it. Every day mattered, and every day was important. This was the big time, and I knew it.

I've never lost that edge. I still feel that way every day, and I think that's one reason I've managed to achieve as much as I have.

Confidence can get you where you want to go. It's so much easier to achieve when you feel good about yourself, your abilities, and your talents. That's why I'm emphasizing confidence as a way to get the most from every day. It's absolutely essential, so never let anyone undermine you, including yourself.

Even if you haven't encountered great success yet, there is no reason you can't bluff a little and act like you have. Confidence is a magnet in the best sense of the word. It will draw people to you and make your daily life -- and theirs -- a lot more pleasant.

Remember, business is full of complexities. That's what makes it so interesting. Anyone who thinks it's boring hasn't given it much thought. Business can be an art, and as an art, it is evolving and mysterious in its own right. When I wrote The Art of the Deal, I was really just illustrating this aspect of business, and I haven't changed my mind about it. Like an artist, I give my utmost every day to what I'm doing. I'm not pretending in any sense of the word.

If you really want to succeed, you'll have to go for it every day like I do. The big time isn't for slackers. Keep up your mental stamina and remain curious. Bored people equal unintelligent people in my mind. Hopefully since you're reading this, that unfortunate group won't ever include you. It better not!

I don't like dropouts either. Get with and keep up with the program--and I mean every day. I'm not really a tough guy but I am when it comes to education and using your brains. Ignorance is more expensive than education, and considering what's available these days--Trump University, for example--very few people can make a strong case for ignorance.

Take the pains required to become what you want to become, or you might end up becoming something you'd rather not be.

Great Article.

My Presidential Endorsement

This is about the only time in my life that I'm proud and happy about voting. All good candidates and all talking about issues that are important to us all. The question is, who can execute? Who can really do what they say will do?

What a coincidence. The first woman President and the first African American President, at the same time. Why now? What a change. What a unique time in history to be witnessing this change. I am an Independent and I happy about what the Democrats are talking about.

Hillary Clinton, John Edwards and Barack Obama. To us all and our future generation, they can bring about some good changes, but I favor Barack Obama for a lot of reasons.

Happy Quotes

I think Quotes ought to be share with as many people as posssible. It just serves as reminder, most often as motivator to many of us, and I'll try to post as many as I can. Here are a few.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."— Mark Twain

"I view my life in a way … I'll explain it to you, OK? The greatest thing about tomorrow is, I will be better than I am today. And that's how I look at my life. I will be better as a golfer, I will be better as a person, I will be better as a father, I will be a better husband, I will be better as a friend. That's the beauty of tomorrow. There is no such thing as a setback. The lessons I learn today I will apply tomorrow, and I will be better."
Tiger Woods

I am here for a purpose and that purpose is to grow into a mountain, not to shrink to a grain of sand. Henceforth will I apply ALL my efforts to become the highest mountain of all and I will strain my potential until it cries for mercy. Og Mandino

Don’t ever let anyone tell you that something is too competitive. Once you subtract the people who don’t work very hard, or the people who aren’t as good as you, your competition shrinks dramatically.
- Maggie Mason, entrepreneur, author, and founder of Mighty Goods

It is those who concentrates on but one thing at a time who advance in this world. The great man or woman is the one who never steps outside his or her specialty or foolishly dissipates his or her individuality. Og Mandino

Never again clutter your days or nights with so many menial and unimportant things that you have no time to accept a real challenge when it comes along. This applies to play as well as work. A day merely survived is no cause for celebration. You are not here to fritter away your precious hours when you have the ability to accomplish so much by making a slight change in your routine. No more busy work. No more hiding from success. Leave time, leave space, to grow. Now. Now! Not tomorrow!
Og Mandino(1923 - 1996)

Enjoy.

Something for all of us to think about.

With the new year upon us, it's great to look at life and move some parts in the right direction. Most often it all starts with the right questions. Here are a few I came across from Edith Yeung website(Edithyeung.com), that I think are really compelling.

35 Questions You Must Ask to Make This Year the Best Year Ever
1. In one year, whom do I want to become?
2. If today was my last day on earth, what would I rather be doing?
3. How do I want to be remembered?
4. What do I want to be known as?
5. What brings me to life?
6. What is my life goal?
7. If I could only do one thing and one thing only today, what is it that I need to do to get myself closer to my goal?
8. What is my passion in life?
9. What inspires me?
10. What makes me happy?
11. What makes me feel good?
12. What about my life makes me excited every day?
13. Am I living the life I always wanted?
14. Am I growing and learning every day?
15. What do I look forward to every day when I wake up?
16. Who are my best friends?
17. Who is willing to stand by me no matter what?
18. Am I spending time with people whom I care the most?
19. Am I spending time on things that I care about the most?
20. Why am I doing what I am doing now?
21. What am I willing to stand by no matter what?
22. Why do I want to be successful?
23. Who am I helping?
24. What am I naturally good at?
25. Am I adding value to other people’s lives every day?
26. What am I going to do differently this year compared what I did last year?
27. What actions do I need to take to live by my own lights?
28. What is stopping me from doing what I really want to do? (BTW – the answer should beNOTHING)
29. What possibilities do I see now that weren’t obvious to me before?
30. Who will benefit (other than me) when my dream is realized?
31. Who can help me in achieving my goal?
32. What is my life going to be like when my dream is realized?
33. How many different ways do I make money now?
34. How many more ways could I make money this year?
35. Am I as healthy as I can be?

Think About This, have you been avoiding these questions all your life?

Share these questions with your friends. A nice little gift for the new year.

Peace

Mr. Marketer.

You know I always find little snips of information useful and inspirational. Sometimes I keep and file them away sometimes I don't. I've decided to keep them and post them this blog to share.

H

Want some business advice? Go to the man who defined the deal as an art form and turned the phrase "You're Fired" into a trademark. We asked The Donald: How do you it? His response:
Realize that being an entrepreneur is not a group effort. You’re in charge. Everything starts with you.
Whatever happens you’re responsible. If it doesn’t happen you’re responsible.
Think of yourself as a one man army. You are not only the Commander-in-Chief you’re the soldier as well. You must plan and execute your plan alone.
Don’t expect anyone to be on your side.
Use your imagination. Use your intelligence to execute what your imagination present to you.
Put everything you’ve got into everything you are doing. Nothing should be haphazard.
Ask yourself: what is it I can provide that doesn’t already exist?
See yourself as victorious. This will focus you in the right direction.
See other people saying “I wish I’d that idea.”
Never give up. Be tough. Apply your skills and talent, but above all be tenacious.ere's a few from Mr. Trump that I've found in The New York Enterprise Report July 15 2004.
